A New Resolution Has Passed To Eliminate Birth-Right Citizenship In Canada

As per current system, anyone who is born in Canada receives Canadian citizenship but with the new resolution passed, there is a threat that this right can be barred in the future if enacted as legislation. This resolution was voted by Tory delegates at their party's policy convention held on August 25 2018. As per the new resolution, Birthright citizenship should not be given to anyone who don't have Canadian parents or parents with PR status.

The new resolution, which is non-binding, was supported by majority of delegates from across Canada.
